This escalator helicopter stunt went terribly bad.
“Escalator Helicopter.” When performed successfully, it involves an individual almost floating on top of opposing handrails of an escalator, using the opposite motion to turn in a helicopter-like circular motion.
He wanted to try it out at a Colorado Springs mall. The 6-second clip displaying Szklarski’s attempt on YouTube shows just how quickly things went wrong.
Shortly after jumping up onto the handrails and doing a mini rotation, Szklarski got stuck between the two handrails and the glass support frame broke beneath him. After seeing the stunt on YouTube, the mall wasted no time sending Szklarski an estimate of its own. $3,700 was needed for repairs.
