A Vietnamese entrepreneur made a bold decision by staffing an airline with flight attendants dressed in sexy bikini outfit which given her a huge fortune and is now on her way to becoming Vietnam’s first female billionaire.
The 45-year-old CEO, who rushes off criticism of her unique business’s approach, said: “You have the right to wear anything you like, either the bikini or the traditional ao dai.”
VietJet Air CEO Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is the brain behind this bikini-clad attendants.
The airline features gorgeous flight attendants in sexy outfits.
Vietjet is the only privately owned airline in Vietnam and is about to go public in the next three months.
Thao, who owns 95% of Vietjet, is expected to make $1.37 billion of fortune once the privately owned airline goes public.
Her idea has given the company more than 30% of Vietnam’s airline market share in just a few years. And the company’s motto “Enjoy Flying!”, is highlighted by its brilliant marketing tool featuring steamy calendars with bikini-clad stewardesses.
Thao also said, “We don’t mind people associating the airline with the bikini image. If that makes people happy, then we are happy.”
“By wearing bikinis, the staffs are empowering images in the conservative culture of the country.” she added.

Thao, who made her first million at 21 by selling fax machines and latex rubber while studying finance and economics in Moscow, has now owns 95% of the airline. She also holds a 90% stake in Ho Chi Minh City’s Dragon City development and majority stakes in three resorts in Vietnam.
